Mid-summer garden update

Despite Mukluk digging up half the garden a few weeks ago...

The garden bounced back quite well. The tomatoes quickly outgrew their smaller cages and were small trees themselves. I saw a tutorial on how you should prune your tomatoes, and so, with quite a bit of trepidation, decided to attempt it on my own.
The lush garden before pruning...
The newly shorn tomato plants
So all in all, despite non-summery weather, and despite canine disasters, our garden is a trooper and is doing quite well. I've been using the basil all summer but am still waiting on the bell peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers - although all of them are almost there.
Soon to be a yellow bell pepper...

Soon to be grape tomatoes

Soon to be delicious cucumbers

My beautiful garden!
I can hardly wait until everything ripens and we can eat of the garden's bounty!

Floral beauty

I've been in love with the beauty my flowers have brought my yard this spring/summer, and have been snapping photos as I could - capturing their beauty forever. Here are just a few shots from our yard.

Love these colors!

Pretty yellow things...

These are actually from my neighbor's yard, but I couldn't resist.

Pretty roses...

My favorite photo...

I love the pink against the gray fence...

Such detailed petals!

More Painting!

Herman left to go to do the commercial fishing thing in Alaska for a few weeks, and I've been left to twiddle my thumbs. Except, I decided to not just twiddle my thumbs. I was so excited by the laundry room success that I decided I wanted to tackle the rest of the house.
I contained myself, just barely, in the face of all the paint sales at local home improvement stores, and decided to only do the accent wall between the kitchen and living room, and the wall I wanted to make an accent wall in our entry way.
I bought paint and primer in one Behr paint (the color was Harmonious) started with the already painted wall between the kitchen and living room which was currently sage.

Taping for crisp edges (Living Room Side)
I did both sides of the wall, living room and kitchen
Taping the kitchen side - a bit trickier
The new color is on the right, the old color on the left - for contrast's sake
Halfway done...
Finished the easy side - loving the calm color!
Almost finished with side A
I forgot to take photos while I was doing the kitchen side, which is probably good because I had paint all over my hands at that point.

Entryway, post paint...
I also did the entryway and love the transformation here the most. It makes the space seem much more put together
Finished entryway...
Here's the finished entryway... well sort of finished, I want to replace that table with something more substantial/sturdy. One day...

Anywhoo, I love the changes - now we just need to figure out what to paint all our other walls - which will be a monumental task.
