Hubby and I were out in our backyard admiring our raised garden bed and the growth of the plants so far and then took a peek at the other side of our yard.
It was not a lovely sight. The garden bed was overgrown, ill-defined, and frankly, a bit of an eyesore. So we decided to turn the day into project day.
First we cleared the garden bed:

Then we went to the store to purchase our supplies. We weren't sure if we wanted to build a matching garden bed to what we already had, line with pavers for a completely new look, or go with something previously not thought of. While at the store we perused many options and had several heated debates, but finally found something that was budget-friendly and pretty. We made ourselves a customized version of the picket fence.
First we weather and water-proofed our wood:
Then the hubby started to create the wonder that would become our new garden bed.
All his hard work paid off - and we were left with:
