From Blah to Oasis!

I've had the painting itch for a while now and DH has been holding me back but this weekend he was unable to hold me back anymore. School is out for the summer, and I was eager for a project to occupy my free time.

I have been convinced for a while now that our laundry room could look a million times better than it is - with just a coat of paint and some organization. I'm here today to prove to you that it can be done.

Last weekend we started this project while working on our garden addition and built a shelf for in between the washer and dryer.

I painted it black hoping it would be enough of a change for me... but it wasn't
We started with typical laundry room - blah walls, chaos, and kitty litter mess.
As you can see, we had a variety of paint choices to choose from, and I have to say DH made a fine choice. I wasn't too sure about it but it turned out perfectly!
Then the hubby cleared out the room and taped the entire room for me - I'm so lucky!
Then it was time to paint - it was a lot harder to paint than I had originally anticipated, and  took forever!
But lo and behold, we have a finished product at last!
Just the laundry machines and shelving...
From the door, looking in...
all organized and decorated - I love the blue against the black!
Kitty Station - the tote is now blue so as to better coordinate
So dear Readers - what do you think?

I love it  - it makes me happy when I go in there now - so pretty and clean!
