Time flies when you're busy

One of my goals this year is to do better about  keeping people updated as to what is going on in the Hartman home. I find it difficult because we really settle into a routine, and I feel as if there is nothing of real importance to share, but then I see the length of time between each post, and feel bad...

Herman is unfortunately still looking for a job, and we are hoping and praying that he gets one soon. We have been just barely scraping by each month on my paycheck alone, and this month was the worst yet. We actually had to sell some of our stuff in order to make ends meet this month. So please, join us in praying for something to come along for Herman soon - we really need it.

I've taken on a few new responsibilities at work. The first one I took because, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, we need some extra money. I'm tutoring a student who was expelled, and that has been a completely interesting experience so far. We're still working out the kinks, and I'm hoping that we (I) can make this work.

In addition to that I allowed myself to be talked into starting a blogging club for students- some of my former students who work for our school newspaper came to ask me if I had an interesting new years resolution. I shared with them the photo a day blog project that I had started, and they loved the idea. They wanted me to show them it, and they fell in love with the idea of blogging. I'm excited to see where this all goes - and hopeful that we can pull together a fun group of students interested in writing with purpose.

Mukluk continues to be a complete joy in our life - even when things are at their bleakest, he can make both of us chuckle with his puppy antics. The cats are typically less than amused by his game, but then again, they're getting a bit old and crotchety.

The class that I am taking while pursuing my high school endorsement is going well - the professor seems to really like my work, and I have been enjoying learning more about adolescent psychology. Speaking of which... I should get back to the massive amounts of reading I need to do, so that I can finish this project I am working on for the class.

It never ends....

Nikki
