Changes

What a weekend this has been. It always amazes me how much I get done when I'm trying to avoid school work, and especially when Herman's gone.

So far this today I have:
Done a load of dishes, dried and put away + dishwasher
Done a load of laundry, dried and put away
Re-arranged/ Organized our pantry
Meal planned through www.relishrelish.com - amazing site, check it out if you haven't
Gone grocery shopping for this week's meals
Started chili going in the crock pot
Vacuumed

Herman helped me move furniture last night and we ended up with the following:
An office with 2 desks, one for each of us and our work
A reading area in our bedroom for me
A bookcase in the living room that doesn't look dark, dingy and crowded.

So far I am happy with all the changes that are going on, excited for Herman's last day of class to be over, and not so thrilled to still have to do my grad school homework and honors grading tonight.

A real dry spell

I can't believe its been so long since I've posted. Things have been crazy busy with summer school ending, my visit to Alaska, Herman coming home, and me starting to teach high school.

Have I mentioned that yet? I'm a high school English teacher now. It's crazy, it's chaotic, and it's a HUGE change. I'm loving seeing my kiddos from last year roaming the hallways and visiting me, and I'm liking teaching most of my classes. I'm just lonely - its been hard to connect with people, and I'm hoping that things get better. Tomorrow, grades are due, and the first 6 weeks will be officially over.

I'm back in school, taking a grad class at PSU, and that, in addition to the new job, is killing me. I'm constantly stressed out, overwhelmed, tired, and irritable. Poor Herman doesn't quite know what to make of me.

Speaking of Herman, he returned 6 weeks ago, and was able to return to the job he had before he left. That just recently ended though, as the contract expired, but it was nice to have some form of income coming in right as he came back. He has enrolled in school himself, and starts this weekend.
