Happy Anniversary!

Today marks 2 years since Herman and I tied the knot in Kodiak AK. Unfortunately he's out fishing, so we won't be able to celebrate until I'm up there. But, even with life's ups and downs, we have had a really good 2 years, and I look forward to sharing many many more with the love of my life.

“I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”

Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one

“Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”

“There is no feeling more comforting and consoling than knowing you are right next to the one you love.”

To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage.

I love you husband of mine~

Now all the fun begins!

Tomorrow begins the final week of summer school, and while it promises to be crazy and hectic and completely overwhelming, I'm calm because it means that once I'm done with that, the fun part of my summer begins. Its about time!

After a day to rest after SSA, I'm heading up to Seattle for Lindsay's bachelorette party. Since the wedding is the following week, and I was planning on being up there early to mid week anyways, I'll just stay up there for a week and see family and friends as much as possible. Then its her wedding day and camping.

After that is over, I will be returning to Portland to pack up and head off to the wilds of Alaska! Yes, this means I will get to see my husband who has been gone since mid May. (Well hopefully he will come into town to see me lol) While in Kodiak I will finally get to see all the babies my friends up there have had, and hang out with some wonderful people. My main goal is to just relax and have fun, no work, no stress, just life. I will be up there for 2 weeks and cannot wait.

Then of course, it will be time to return and begin to start teaching a whole new school year in a new school, new grade level, and new curriculum.

But one month of summer isn't bad!

Oh, and Herman's fishing is picking up finally. His most recent trip landed them 40,000 pounds of fish, which is much better than the 5,000 lbs they were catching before. He's sent down some of the fish he's caught and its DELICIOUS!!! I'll share if you're nice to me :)

Til next time-
Stay safe,
Nikki H

Missing H

"I bind myself for life; I have chosen; from now on my aim will be not to search for someone who will please me, but to please the one I have chosen!"

Just a thought for the day, as I miss my husband more and more
