I'll admit... I have been slacking when it comes to this blog. I am shocked to discover that my last post was a month ago, especially when it feels like I posted a lot more recently than that. Oh well, time flies....
March has been a busy month for me. I got my contract renewal notice, so hopefully if funding holds out, that means I have a job next year. Yay! I also turned in my application for grad school after months of procrastination. I am not super excited to go back, but at the same time, don't feel like losing my license, so I guess I have to. There was a huge upheaval at work, one that made me question my dedication to the education field, but things have settled back down now, and I'm pulling through. 10 more weeks of school left, and much to do. This week is spring break for me and it hasn't felt like much of a break. So far I've gotten my wisdom teeth out, graded, cleaned, lesson planned, and I'm not even close to being done yet.
Herman has been working hard at his job, and is looking forward to going back to Alaska to fish this summer. I can't say that I'm excited to have 4 months away from him, but the money will help us to afford me going back to school in the fall. He is also very involved in some project involving the native corporation that he has shares in, but I don't completely understand the project, so I won't even try to describe it. Suffice it to say, he has been on the phone non stop the past couple of weeks, and its nice seeing him so involved in something that means so much to him.
I grew up with these folks... they're family
After we get settled in, Herman's brother Richie and his wife Donna will be stopping by to say hi on their way to his new Navy post in... get jealous.... Hawaii!!! We are excited to see them again, and may even join them as they jaunt down to the Redwoods...
So while March has been a flurry of activity, April promises to be more of the same.
Hope you and yours are happy and well
xoxo
