Well Herman is two weeks into his job, and loving it. The hours are consistent, and the crew he works with is friendly. We get to leave at the same time each day, and are home around the same time each night. Its a nice routine.
At school we just finished our first trimester. It flew by so fast. I managed to stay on top of grading throughout the grading period (which is a first for me... grading is my Achilles heel) and so didn't have too much to do at the end.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving this year, which we hosted. Unfortunately, many people we invited could not come, but Herman's sister and brother in law came, along with their baby, Riley, and a friend from school came, with her baby. It was a nice gathering, and we managed to dish up some yummy food.
As is our tradition, we did the annual Black Friday early morning shopping, which for once, wasn't too crazy. We got all of the nieces and nephews their presents, and have only a few more to get. We got ourselves a few presents too :)
After wrapping the loot, we headed out to the coast for the day, and enjoyed some more shopping, walking in the mists, good teriyaki chicken, and even finally saw a movie.
I have been hooked onto the Twilight book (halfway through number 1 in a day) but loved the movie and am excited to see how the next ones are.
I have also joined weightwatchers and have lost 2lbs already!
I just finished a ton of grading (still trying to stay ahead of the game) so I am going to sign off and enjoy what's left of this cool fall Sunday afternoon. Love to all!

Herman's Finally Employed again!
In big news: Herman has a job. He's excited and, its temporary, so it fits with his plan to go fishing this summer. The hours are normal, he's guaranteed 40 and only 40 a week, , and the pay is good; the only downside is that he'll be walking around outside all day.
What a relief. It has been really stressful for me at least being the sole provider. I have to admit, I got a little jealous that he got to be home all the time, and I was constantly busting butt at work.
In other news: work for me is going well, although the kids are getting antsy as they are able to be outside less. Boundaries are being tested, and buttons pushed.
Herman and I have taken some time to relax with eachother recently, and its really done wonders. We should keep this up.
I should be grading papers, and planning lessons, but I just wanted to post a quick update on life in our humble abode.
P.S. A friend's baby is turning 1 on Saturday, and I'm still under baby fever. They're just so darn cute!
